The position
About the position
Herman Senior is looking for an experienced Mate to strengthen our internationally operating fleet of Shoalbusters and Multicats.
You are responsible for a safe and efficient navigational watch and support the Captain with nautical, operational and administrative duties aboard the vessel.
Responsibilities
Tasks and responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, correct and environmentally responsible navigational watch.
- Supervise and motivate the crew during the watch.
- Train and guide crew members.
- Maintain the ship log, daily reports and other vessel records.
- Enforce safety and environmental requirements in accordance with ISM and ISPS.
- Comply with the Management System, company policy, Standing Instructions and Ship Security Plan.
- Provide first aid during incidents.
- Optimize operational performance and vessel continuity.
- Perform routine onboard maintenance and repairs.
Your profile
Qualifications
- Valid Chief Mate < 3000 GT certificate of competency in accordance with STCW Reg. II/2.
- All STCW certificates required for the position.
- Valid seafarer medical certificate.
- Experience with Multicats and/or Shoalbusters is an advantage.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Resident in the Netherlands.
