About the position
Herman Senior is a Dutch family business with 50 years of maritime experience. Our fleet supports international customers in the offshore, dredging and wind industries.
As Technical Superintendent, you are responsible for the technical and nautical management of several vessels. You connect ship and shore and ensure that the fleet operates safely, reliably and in accordance with legislation.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities
- Manage the fleet in accordance with legislation and the QHSE management system.
- Monitor and implement Class and Flag State requirements.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections and surveys.
- Organize and supervise dry-dockings.
- Control costs and deliver cost-efficient maintenance.
- Visit vessels and inspect their technical condition.
- Act as the technical point of contact within the organization.
- Guide the Junior Technical Assistant.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, shipyards and classification societies.
Your profile
Qualifications
- Completed technical and/or maritime education at intermediate or higher professional level.
- Experience with or demonstrable affinity for tugboats and work vessels.
- Knowledge of maritime legislation and Class and Flag State requirements.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate between ship and shore.
