Quality and safety as operating principles

Quality and safety are core values at Herman Senior. Our crews and shore organisation work through one practical QHSE management system to prepare, execute and review maritime operations in a controlled way.

Herman Senior has been ISO 9001:2015 certified since 2018. In 2021, the company also received a Document of Compliance under the International Safety Management Code, while Shoalbuster Brutus became the first vessel in the fleet to receive a Safety Management Certificate.

Our QHSE commitments

A practical system for responsible operations

Our QHSE framework connects planning, people, equipment and reporting. It helps us protect everyone involved, reduce environmental impact and deliver dependable support for every maritime project.

01

Quality

Defined processes and verified controls support consistent, reliable delivery across our vessels and shore organisation.

02

Health

Fit-for-work practices, clear responsibilities and a supportive reporting culture help safeguard everyone involved.

03

Safety

Risk assessment, toolbox talks and stop-work responsibility turn safety requirements into daily behaviour.

04

Environment

Planning and execution focus on preventing pollution, reducing waste and using resources responsibly.

05

Competence

Training, familiarisation and competent crews ensure that procedures are understood and applied in practice.

06

Continuous improvement

Audits, observations and lessons learned are reviewed so that procedures and performance keep improving.

From policy to practice

A clear cycle for every operation

01

Plan

We identify hazards, assess risks, define responsibilities and align the vessel, crew and work method before mobilisation.

02

Execute

Crews work to agreed procedures, use toolbox talks and remain empowered to stop work when conditions are unsafe.

03

Review and improve

Performance, incidents and observations are reviewed, shared and translated into practical improvements.
